PARKER CENTRAL PROJECTS

P3 works to partner with different organizations to improve Parker. In 2020, the organization partnered with the Town of Parker to share the financing on several projects in the heart of Parker. In Parker Central, P3 will invest in seven area improvement projects totaling $13M. These projects will address several needed improvements, including expanding pedestrian access, improving landscaping, improving traffic circulation, and adding much-needed street lighting.

Let's Talk P3: Episode 8

Pikes Peak Drive Pedestrian Improvements

Project Description: The project generally includes widening select sidewalks, adding pedestrian lighting, improving crosswalks, improving street drainage and undergrounding overhead power lines. The existing 5-ft public sidewalks along Victorian Peaks and Parker Flats will remain unchanged.

During the construction process, traffic will be managed through lane closures and methods of handling traffic (MHT) that will be implemented in phases. These methods may include narrowed lanes, on-street parking closures, lane shifts, and occasional one-lane closures. Priority will be given to ensure that businesses and residences have access while coordinating with property owners for driveway reconstruction. The MHT plans and duration will vary depending on the phase of construction and the type of work being done, and may change on a daily basis.

The project will include four phases of construction.

Phase 1: East side of Pikes Peak Drive from Sulphur Gulch Trail to Pikes Peak Avenue
Phase2: East side of Pikes Peak Drive from Pikes Peak Ave to Mainstreet
Phase 3: West side of Pikes Peak Drive from Mainstreet to Pikes Peak Avenue
Phase 4: West side of Pikes Peak Drive from Pikes Peak Avenue to Sulphur Gulch Trail

The project is expected to be complete in October/November 2023.
